Norn and Sylvari?
The 5 race for GW2 appears to be:
Sylvari
Asuras
Charr
Norn
Human
We already know about Human and Charr. A bit of information on Asuras (thought unsure why they look small). Norn seem to orginated from Norse Mythology. But Sylvari is a bit mystic. Seem like a new race type they create. Here are some links...
Asuras
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asuras
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asura_%28Buddhism%29
http://images.google.com/images?hl=e...=1&sa=N&tab=wi
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Asura
Norn
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norns
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norns_in_popular_culture
http://images.google.com/images?sour...=1&sa=N&tab=wi
Charr
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Charr
So... in specualtions... guess Norn might be Angel like (cause "everybody" love wings). Sylvari is a bit harder to guess. But if do compareson with other MMO type.... as we have the brute type, Charr, the small cute type, Ausra, and maybe a elf-like, Norn, Sylvari would be the Dark-elf like race. So might be something that is darker, or even undead.
Well, thats all specualtions of couse... what do you think?

What I don't get is why centaurs and dwarves aren't playable since they are in Tyria as well.
I'm thinking the sylvari are going to end up being elves.

Sylvaries are supposedly sprite-like beings attuned to nature, so I'd imagine drawing parallels to elves wouldn't be so far off.

Sylvari exactly like elf's or magical beings of those types.
I would say more but I'm already 1 strike away from a ban because i've been talking about them and posting stuff.

Sylvari are basically elves with a druid twist.
Norns are half giants with a typical Dwarven personality it seems (without the gold loving) and have a Dwarven looking face.
I dunno about the Sylvans but the Norns look pretty sweet.

Charr and Asurians you will already have seen.
Going off the info into my own summery of the other two races.
Sylvari will instantly be dismissed by you guys as Elves from their appearence (no pointy ears though). They look young and innocent and sport green hair. They are connected to plants in a way and woke up in the new age of Tyria,naive to everything that is happening/has happend. They know nothing of sorrow or hatred two things which plague Tyria constantly.
Norn look pretty huge. One in the picture sports a red beard and rough look. They are obviously a race where strength comes first. They are able to shapeshift into huge bear-like creatures. They typically look liek an agressive race though some would say they bear resemblence to the Dwarves of Deldrimor only taller.

(begin sacarsm)
Tide, I would like to take this moment to rub in your face your idea about Zehlon Reach.......lol. You were wrong...I was right...and I didn't even declare anything to begin with.
So...since theres no professions, and no Zehlon Reach...how do you feel Tide...good...lol.
(End Sacasm)
Anet knows we hate cute and cuddley things...especially an entire race...and on top of that..playable.
So I doubt a warrior for any of these professions is going to look stupid. Anet is going to create a unique way of introducing Elves....in a more Guildwarish way.
Don't fret about it guys, these races aren't going to look stupid. (looks at Gaile Grey)
Although I am wondering what all of them will end up looking like...

So im guessing
Humans = Humans
Charr = Beastish Race
Norn = Dumb and tough mini giants (lol)
Asurians = Little people
Sylvari = Elvish? Nature....
Awwwwww that sucks we are still missing dwarves....waaaa
BTW that Asurian looked more like golem from Lord of the rings...not cuddley kinda creepy. Though a charr could step on it. I want to see an Asurian warrior.

Now I've seen how the other two races look like; Norns and Sylvari's, I'm so interested in the Sylvari's, Asurians, and Charr's. Hell, I'd like to try out all of them.

Nice connection made between "Silvari" and "silva". I study Latin as well, and somehow did not make the connection between the two. Anyway, xBakox's link does have pictures of what the playable races look like. (I think it's in the 8th post of that thread.) Ya'll oughtta check 'em out.

If we get to choose sides, I want to choose the Charr! I love the pre-searing look. The sylvari are aslo pretty cool. So it is going to be a tough choice for me.
